Who, what, why?

Welcome to Generations in the Kitchen! We are so happy that you are here reading and enjoying our recipes, stories, and photos. This blog is a project of my mom's and I. My name is Jessica and my mom is Lesley. I have been in the kitchen since I was born, and that is not an exaggeration. My mom is an incredible cook, I am learning to be a cook and a baker. Often things do not turn out, but I am here to share our journey of learning and experimenting in the kitchen.
We live in the wet, cold, dark and rainy Washington where the Kitchen is always a place that radiates with light. This blog will be a centered around food, but I am sure it will drift from there.
We will try our best to post consistently, and I can guarantee that there will be delicious recipes posted in no time.
Why are we doing this? Well, first to document all our time and success (failure) in the kitchen. Second, to share some of the recipes that we love most. Enjoy!!
